Submit to Love Studios: Mohammed Sharif

POSTED: 26 February 2019

Mohammed's work will be on display at our Thursday Late event on 7 March

“I am 45, born in Pakistan”

Mohammed Sharif is a London-based artist at Submit to Love Studios - home to a collective of artists, all of whom have survived brain injuries. He has been a member for two years.

Mohammed came to the UK as an adult. When asked questions about home, he becomes tearful. He tells how he cooked chickens, meat and dhal in the Halal Kebab House Pakistan.

Over the past decade, the artists at Submit to Love have developed a unique set of practices and interests, supporting each other and often working collaboratively. Mohammed
spent a year in the studio silently watching before he began creating his own work. He describes his drawings as cartoons.

Autograph has collaborated with the Studio for a Thursday Late event on 7 March at our gallery in Shoreditch. Mohammed's work will be on display alongside other Submit to Love artists, and our current exhibition Phoebe Boswell: The Space Between Things.

Please join us on 7 March - everyone is welcome at Autograph. There will be three spaces of artwork, an informal Q&A with Submit to Love Studios artists, drinks, and an exhibition tour.

Entry is free, and our venue is accessible.
