Visual Story
Before you visit, you can use our visual story, which has photographs and easy-to-read information about what it’s like to visit our gallery. It also includes measurements to support wheelchair users in navigating the building.
Assistance Dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome as long as they are appropriately trained. To protect our collections and for everyone’s comfort and safety, please make sure your assistance dog stays under your care and control throughout your visit, and remains on a lead. We can provide a drinking bowl for assistance dogs, please ask staff at the Welcome Desk if you require this.
Accessible toilets
There are accessible toilets on every floor of the building which have handrails and can accommodate wheelchairs. All our toilets are self-contained and unisex.
We do not have a Changing Places toilet available on site. For information about the nearest Changing Places toilet facilities, enter Autograph’s postcode (EC2A 3BA) into the Changing Places website. Please note, Changing Places facilities will each have different opening hours. Detailed information about the facilities provided and opening hours are included in the listing.
baby feeding and changing
Visitors are welcome to breastfeed and bottle-feed babies in all areas of Autograph’s building. Baby-changing facilities are on the ground floor.
wheelchair and physical access
There is level access from the street to enter the Gallery and throughout our building. A lift serves all floors.
Our gallery spaces display temporary exhibitions, which means the design and layout of the galleries changes, however the space is always designed to be wheelchair accessible.

seating
There are simple benches without backs or arms in both of our gallery spaces. If you would like a chair with a back (with or without arms), please ask a Visitor Ambassador and they will get one for you.
large print
All the exhibition text presented on the walls in the galleries is a minimum size 16 point. If you would prefer a large print guide featuring the wall texts and labels, one is available from the Welcome Desk on the ground floor. A member of staff would be happy to get this for you.
British Sign LanguAge (BSL)
Exhibition interpretation is provided in British Sign Language on a video screen at the entrance to each of our two gallery spaces. These videos are also captioned.
induction loop
There is a hearing loop at the Welcome Desk on the Ground Floor.
subtitles
Subtitles are provided on all audiovisual content in the exhibitions.
parking for disabled visitors
Autograph does not provide public parking, and our on-site disabled parking spaces are currently not available due to building works taking place.
Free disabled parking bays are available to use for up to 3 hours on Curtain Road, a 2-minute journey from the gallery.
quiet times and sensory access
Wednesday – Friday mornings are usually the quietest times to visit, while Saturday is our busiest day.
We can provide sensory support equipment including ear defenders, weighted blankets and fidget toys. If you would like these, please ask for them at the Welcome Desk on the ground floor.
