Product Description

Born in 1929 in Accra, James Barnor is regarded as a pioneer of Ghanaian photography. In 1959, two years after Ghana became an independent nation, Barnor moved to London to broaden his knowledge about photography. During London’s 'Swinging Sixties', he eloquently captured the mood of the time, and the African diaspora’s experiences in the city.

Barnor took this photograph in the early 1960s of two smartly dressed wedding guests in London. It is an iconic work by the artist, held in the collections of Tate (London, UK) and the Victoria and Albert Museum (London, UK).

This limited edition has been hand-printed in the darkroom by master printer Bayeux, London.
