Rights in Focus Network
DISCUSSING RIGHTS-FOCUSED APPROACHES

SAT 1 JUNE 2019
11:30AM – 4:30PM
LONDON: AUTOGRAPH

£6 / £5

About the Event

Join us to share and discuss rights-focused approaches to arts participation, raising questions and discussing how a rights-focused approach might:

• Engage those most marginalised, excluded or discriminated against

• Address the power imbalances that create these conditions

• Advocate for structural and systemic change at personal, community, organisational and societal levels

• Highlight some of the ethical dilemmas of arts engagement work

The theme for the meeting and speakers will be announced closer to the date.

This event is aimed at artists, arts professionals and those working in community settings. The Rights in Focus Network event takes place quarterly, and we welcome both returning and first time attendees - regardless of what stage in your career or practice you are at.

You will be encouraged to share learning, skills and resources from your own practice.

Lunch and refreshments are provided (included in ticket price).

The Rights in Focus Network has grown out of conversations which began at a two-day event held at Autograph in April 2018 Rights in Focus: A 2-day Exchange Exploring the Politics of Engagement.
