NEURODIVERSITY AND ART

THU 9 NOV 2017 11AM – 3PM

FREE EVENT
Organised in collaboration Project Art Works

About the Event

Neurodiverse groups benefit from creative collaboration with artists, curators and galleries, but how does collaborative action help us to mutual understanding?

Why is an awareness and understanding of neurodiversity important for curators and exhibition programmers?

And how can curatorial programming become more inclusive to accommodate this?

Join us for a seminar of talks and conversations exploring making art with, by and for people who have complex needs.

The seminar is aimed at neurotypical and neurodiverse artists and makers, curators, cultural education/engagement professionals, care agencies, cultural, health and social care policy makers; and anyone interested in new ways of thinking about diversity and the different ways in which we perceive and inhabit the world.

We will also reflect on the first year of the EXPLORERS Project (run by Project Art Works), an innovative programme of art and discourse that is creating relevant and supportive interactions between neurotypical and neurodiverse collaborators by those partners and collaborators involved.
