Artist and barber Faisal Abdu’Allah will perform a Live Salon, inviting members of the audience to have their haircut whilst discussing key issues of his current exhibition The Duppy Conqueror and Other Works.
Reflecting on his own life experiences, and the relationship between being both an artist and a barber, Abdu’Allah will invite the audience to discuss and debate the challenging questions of race, belonging and community that shape his work.
Abdu’Allah’s performance piece, Live Salon was first performed at the Hayward Gallery, as part of the British Art Show in 2006, Tate Britain in 2010, and more recently at Tandem Press, USA.
