Celebrate the opening of two new exhibitions at Autograph's gallery in Hackney: Armet Francis' photographs chronicling the lives of people of the African diaspora for more than 40 years, and Hélène Amouzou's powerful work contemplating the complex emotions of displacement and exile.
Armet Francis' images are life-affirming moments that celebrate the resilience and survival of African diasporic cultures. Curated by Mark Sealy.
Amouzou's hand printed photographs are a crucial document of a migrant who has grappled with notions of freedom, exclusion, and bureaucracy – and a refusal of erasure. Curated by Bindi Vora.
Everyone is welcome to Autograph's exhibition openings. Both galleries will be open, plus drinks and an outdoor seating area. This is an informal event, you can arrive and leave at any time.
During busy times, there may be a short queue to enter the building or galleries.

Autograph welcomes people with all types of disabilities
Our building and entrance is step free. A wheelchair accessible lift goes to all floors
Each floor has an accessible toilet. All toilets are single-occupancy and unisex
A bar is located in the studio, with contactless payment
Enjoy your drink in our studio or outdoor seating area. To protect the artworks, drinks are not allowed in the galleries
There is a free, staffed cloakroom at this event for coats and large bags
To protect the artworks from accidental damage, backpacks and bags over 12" x 12" cannot be brought into the galleries, and will need to be placed in our free cloakroom
