ABOUT THE event

Join Creative Computing Artist and Educator Jazmin Morris for a deep dive into the overlapping themes of artificial intelligence, spirituality and culture in cyberspace. Inspired by Autograph’s exhibition Mónica Alcázar-Duarte: Digital Clouds Don't Carry Rain, this hands-on workshop will have both crafting and computing exercises that explore the history of technology – and the importance of 'slow’ technology for the future.

Arrive early if you’d like some time to visit the exhibition before we start (it’s free). Morris will begin the event with a reading and group discussion of her essay A Home Made from Forward /Slashes/ and [Square Brackets], and how to advocate for softer and slower futures. We’ll then move onto creative making exploring these ideas – both in craft and digitally.

Please bring your laptop or tablet to the workshop. If you are unable to bring one with you, let us know on the booking form, Autograph has a small number of devices that can be used on the day. Other materials and refreshments will be provided. The event will run for 2 hours and 30 minutes with a 15-minute snack break. You can note any dietary requirements on the booking form.

The ticket price for this event is £10. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. If this ticket price is unaffordable for you, please get in touch with Harriet at harriet@autograph-abp.co.uk about free ticketing options.
