Autograph is delighted to be a partner on the Climate and Colonialism project led by Sria Chatterjee at the Paul Mellon Centre, working towards new and interdisciplinary understandings of British visual and material culture produced around and in response to the interrelated and enduring histories of colonialism, capitalism and climate change. Over the next three years, Autograph and the Paul Mellon Centre will collaborate on a series of events, publications and conversations that centre the relationship of the arts and environmental justice, starting with a collaboratively programmed conference taking place 13 - 15 March 2024.

The arts have long been concerned with highlighting the ongoing histories of resource extraction and its repercussions. This two-day symposium asks: what happens next?
The Climate and Colonialism project is led by Sria Chatterjee at the Paul Mellon Centre, working alongside a group of collaborators who will support and contribute to developing different interdisciplinary strands of the research project over the next three years. This working group includes Bindi Vora and Mark Sealy for Autograph, Debjani Bhattacharrya, Rachael Z. DeLue and Astrida Neimanis.
