Charlie Phillips on his Photography Career

"As artists we always document the time, the period, the era that we were going through. I personally feel there's a missing gap in urban history."

In this video self-taught artist Charlie Phillips (b.1944)  discusses how he became interested in photography, and his experiences of documenting newly arrived individuals in the Afro-Caribbean communities around Notting Hill, London in the 1960s and '70s.
