A special series of events organised by the Cummer Museum in conjunction with Autograph's touring exhibition Somnyama Ngonyama, Hail The Dark Lioness, on view until 20 June.
In more than 80 self-portraits, celebrated visual activist Zanele Muholi uses their body as a canvas to confront the deeply personal politics of ‘race’ and representation in the visual archive.
These free events, led by the Exhibition Host Committee members and Museum staff, will host a limited number of attendees to engage in an open discussion in response to featured works in the exhibition.
We recommend booking in advance, as space is limited.

Autograph is a place to see things differently. Since 1988, we have championed photography that explores issues of race, identity, representation, human rights and social justice, sharing how photographs reflect lived experiences and shape our understanding of ourselves and others.
