The Onyx Project puts disabled artists and creatives with lived experience of racism in the driving seat. The project consists of three strands of activity - The Onyx Collective, mentoring and artist presentations - and it was conceived by Disability Arts Online (DAO) and The Onyx Collective founding members in 2020.
The collective is a group of seven artists who share the lived experience of disability and racism, nurtured and resourced to: create new work that results in a publication; lead on selection and commissioning; instigate its own programmes; be a critical friend to DAO and critique the wider sector.
Autograph is a place to see things differently. Since 1988, we have championed photography that explores issues of race, identity, representation, human rights and social justice, sharing how photographs reflect lived experiences and shape our understanding of ourselves and others.Donate Join our mailing list
