In April, we hosted a conversation between Anu Henriques from Skin Deep and Freedom & Balance’s André Anderson. They shared their experiences as storytellers and facilitators with us and discussed how we can create non-reactive spaces that exist in parallel to the mainstream, where we can centre joy and abundance for our communities, especially in difficult times. This uplifting and vital conversation is now available to listen back below.
We’ve also compiled a playlist and a reading list, alongside other references and resources from the conversation, to help you gather tools and ideas for your own storytelling practices.

Each year, Autograph has an Open Call for event proposals from emerging cultural producers who are working on a new or early stage project. For successful applicants, Autograph provides a budget, curatorial fee, and support to help make the event happen. This event was a result of our 2020 Open Call.
Autograph is a place to see things differently. Since 1988, we have championed photography that explores issues of race, identity, representation, human rights and social justice, sharing how photographs reflect lived experiences and shape our understanding of ourselves and others.
