Our latest book, Sunil Gupta: From Here to Eternity, has been jointly awarded the 2021 Kraszna-Krausz Photography Book Award
We're delighted to announce that Sunil Gupta: From Here To Eternity has been jointly awarded the 2021 Kraszna-Krausz Photography Book Award, alongside Maria Kapajeva's Dream is Wonderful, Yet Unclear.
Edited by Autograph's director, Mark Sealy, From Here to Eternity traces Sunil Gupta’s life through his personal archive: the snapshots, postcards, letters, posters, and news clippings collected during his long career in photography and activism. These fragments of ephemera are annotated with Gupta’s handwritten notes, mapping a four-decade-long journey investigating the question what does it mean to be a gay Indian man?
Published to accompany the major exhibition From Here to Eternity: Sunil Gupta. A Retrospective at The Photographers’ Gallery, this powerful and deeply personal book is still available to purchase through our website, here.
The revered award recognises From Here to Eternity as an "exemplary demonstration of originality and excellence in the field of photography book publishing, from the past year."
The 2021 winning titles will be showcased at a digital event presented in partnership with The Photographers’ Gallery on the 1st June 2021. Sunil Gupta and Maria Kapajeva will be discussing commonalities in their work and how their experiences of book production cross over and diverge. For further information about the event and to book, see here.
